About the seminar
The seminar is hosted by the Child Poverty Unit and the Government Office for the East Midlands. Lunch will be provided prior to the sessions starting at 1.30pm on Tuesday, 23 February at the PERA Conference Centre in Melton Mowbray.
The seminar is free but it is essential that you book your team’s places!
The most effective way of tackling child poverty is locally where partnerships on the ground deliver creative solutions tailored to individual circumstances. The forthcoming Child Poverty Bill will require all local authorities to take into account their multi-agency child poverty strategies when conducting local needs assessments.
The seminar will:
- Highlight the need to put child poverty at the top of the policy agenda
- Inform local partners about the Child Poverty Bill and provide an opportunity to generate feedback on the draft statutory guidance
- Share the lessons learned from child poverty pilots – what’s working and what’s not
- Signpost local partnerships to currently available and upcoming resources to help tackle child poverty
This seminar will be a great opportunity to bring together key policy makers, service commissioners and strategic service providers. |
